Round Table on a Public Health Approach to Palliative Care

Almost 50 people attended a Round Table on a Public Health Approach to Palliative and End of Life Care on the island of Ireland held in the Ballymascanlon House Hotel on 3 December 2019. The event was supported by the Irish Hospice Foundation and jointly hosted by AIIHPC and the IHF, with the involvement of the Northern Ireland Regional Palliative Care In Partnership Programme.
Keynote speakers included Dr Libby Sallnow, from London, Professor Joachim Cohen, from Belgium, and Rebecca Patterson, from Scotland. An overview from the island of Ireland was provided by colleagues from the IHF, AIIHPC, the Department of Health in Northern Ireland and the Health Service Executive in the Republic of Ireland. We hope that the Round Table will be a catalyst for further development across the island of Ireland.
