Palliative Care National Clinical Guidelines Workshop

The objectives of the day were to:

  • increase awareness and understanding of the two National Clinical Guidelines on pharmacological management of cancer pain and management of constipation in palliative care
  • present recent findings on a national point prevalence study examining pain and constipation in patients receiving palliative care and recent audit findings
  • share experiences of implementation of the guidelines
  • examine enablers and barriers to implementing the guidelines in participants’ settings
  • explore how participants can support implementation in their settings
  • raise awareness of tools and resources to support implementation
